The Shopkeeper's Take

One box, ten Marines, every chapter on the table by sundown.

Combat Patrol: Space Marines is the cleanest path into 40K we stock. The push-fit sprues mean no glue, no clamps, no all-night vigil over a half-built Aggressor — clip 'em out, slot 'em together, and you're ready for paint by morning. The roster is a proper starter cocktail: a Captain in Terminator Armour to anchor the line, five Tactical Marines for objective work, three Aggressors for close-range punishment, and an Apothecary to keep the wounded standing.

The included Combat Patrol mission deck pairs with the 10th-edition starter rules — three suggested army lists, six mission scenarios, and a points sheet that scales to 500 or 1,000 with one or two more boxes added on. If you've been eyeing 40K from the saloon door, this is where to step through.

Comes unpainted in heroic 28mm scale. Chapter colour is yours to choose — Ultramarine, Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Imperial Fists, or roll your own Successor in the Army Builder.

"Bought this for my nephew's first army and ended up assembling the whole box in an afternoon myself. Push-fit is genuinely push-fit — no clamps, no swearing. Aggressors look meaner than I remembered."

"Walked in cold. The mission deck got me through my first three games at the FLGS without needing to read the core rulebook end-to-end. Marines feel solid on the table — they hold ground."

"For the points, the value is hard to argue with. Captain's pose is a touch static for my taste, but the magnetising guide on the Workbench fixed that in an evening's tinker."
