ARTSABERS — Article Mockup 3 · Long-form Lore & Short Stories · Build Brief
Purpose
Full-page article mockup of an ARTSABERS blog post in Long-form mode, Lore & Short Stories flavour. Tests the flexible article template at maximum editorial density with the FULL pattern library engaged — full-bleed atmospheric hero, drop-cap, pull-quotes, image pair, full-bleed image break, blockquote, continue-the-story band. The most intensive rendering the article template supports.
Consumes:
- BBAS18 (Editorial Content Spec) — pattern library. Follow verbatim.
- SAS1 v4.2.1 (Kyber Hull styleguide).
- PB + DB — brand voice + audit context.
The article
- Title: Claim the Blade. Wear the Mask. Live the Myth.
- Category chip: Lore & Short Stories
- Byline: Chloe · 3 May 2026 · 12 min read
- Hero subtitle: One night. One choice. One decision that would change everything.
- Hero variant: FULL-BLEED atmospheric, ~700px. Real Kyber Hull hull-plate imagery or narrative-appropriate scene (workshop bench with warm blade glow — atmospheric, cinematic). Dark overlay stack (62% / 72% / 88%). Corner ember bloom bottom-right. Ember eyebrow category chip, cinematic Space Grotesk display title (larger scale than compact hero), subtitle in warm Manrope. Byline row does NOT appear in the hero — appears after ~200px scroll (content-first entry).
- Body density: Long-form mode, maximum density. ~1,800 words. Single-column, max-width 68ch.
- Content patterns used (writer opted in per BBAS18):
- Drop-cap on opening paragraph (Gutenberg
dropCap attribute — ember, 5 lines tall)
- Section breaks with ember hairline
- H2 section headings (writer’s choice of 3-4)
- Large pull-quote at ~40% scroll — verbatim: "You do not choose the blade. The blade chooses the hand that carries it."
- Inline image pair at ~60% scroll (
core/columns with 2× core/image). Two atmospheric workshop-bench product shots — real ARTSABERS hilts under warm workshop lighting.
- Full-bleed image break at ~75% scroll (
core/image with alignfull) — a purpose-picked ARTSABERS blade at full width, ember-glow atmospheric.
- Attributed blockquote near end (~85% scroll) — verbatim: "The Kyber sings to those who listen." — Ancient Jedi Codex, unnumbered fragment
- Terminal sign-off italic: "— Chloe"
- Article footer:
- Ember hairline separator
- Tag chip row (4-5 tags:
Short Story, Kyber Crystals, The Workshop, Origin, Fiction)
- Share row (X · Facebook · Reddit · Copy link)
- Related-articles 3-up card
- Continue-the-story band at the very bottom (unique to Lore mode) — subtle carbon strip with ember hairline top, small eyebrow "Continue the story →", next post title + category chip + reading time. Links to next post in Lore & Short Stories category.
Real imagery
- Full-bleed hero — atmospheric hull-plate imagery variant (use one of the accepted MAS43/44 Kyber Hull hull-plate variants — Variant F horizontal smooth-architectural is a good fit for the workshop-bench feel). Alternative: purpose-generate via nano-banana using the locked style-frame: "Cinematic sci-fi photograph, warm workshop-bench scene, matte carbon-black metal surfaces with delicate ember hairline seams, low warm orange lighting from one side (unseen source), atmospheric, editorial magazine, no visible text or logos, no bright highlights, Bloomberg feature magazine style. A blade laid flat across a felt-lined tray dominates the composition, its emitter angled away from the viewer, a soft orange bloom on the underside of a shelf above."
- Inline image pair at ~60% scroll — two atmospheric ARTSABERS hilts:
- Left:

- Right:

- Full-bleed image break at ~75% scroll —
https://artsabers.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/10/2025/03/Dark-Katana-Kyber-Crystal-Lightsaber-600x600.jpg at full-width. Caption below at body max-width: "The blade a Kyber crystal sings loudest through."

Continue-the-story band (Lore-only footer element)
At the very bottom, below related-articles. Subtle carbon-warm ground strip with ember hairline top edge, ~120px tall. Small eyebrow (ember display, letter-spaced uppercase): "Continue the story →". One-line title of next post: "The Kyber Crystal: A Reader’s Guide to Canon and Legends". Category chip + reading time on the right. Whole band is a link.

Body copy
Written to the shape above — ~1,800 words in cinematic third-person narrative. Setting: workshop bench, night, warm blade glow, quiet. Protagonist described by role, not name — "the smith", "the young apprentice", or an original archetypal reference. Do NOT name the protagonist "Cassian" (operator flagged from MAS63). Use pure archetype phrasing throughout. The narrative arc: smith has built sabers for others for years, has never kept one, this blade is different, the moment of decision, the meaning of taking a saber for oneself, closing with the italic sign-off.
Kyber Hull styling notes
Per SAS1 + BBAS18. Ember on: drop-cap, category chip, section-break hairlines, hero eyebrow, pull-quote hairlines, blockquote left border, full-bleed image caption eyebrow, tag chip hairlines, related-articles hairlines, continue-band ember eyebrow + hairline top. Full-bleed hero has overflow: visible on the hero container so the corner ember bloom can spill beyond the section edge (per MAS62 lesson).
What this mockup deliberately does NOT include
- No callout box (Lore uses pull-quotes + blockquotes for editorial pause, not structural callouts)
- No comment section
- No author profile card
- No sidebar
- No inline product cross-sell (this is narrative, not commerce)
- Named protagonist "Cassian" — explicitly banned per operator flag from MAS63
Success criteria
At full-page scale:
- Full-bleed atmospheric hero at ~700px reads as cinematic — the hero is the piece’s first act, atmosphere before message
- Byline row after scroll (not in hero) preserves the content-first entry
- Drop-cap opener works with the actual opening paragraph
- Large pull-quote at ~40% scroll creates a natural narrative pause
- Image pair at ~60% scroll grounds the story in real hilts
- Full-bleed image break at ~75% scroll delivers the visual crescendo before the closing turn
- Attributed blockquote near end functions as coda voice
- Article footer + continue-the-story band closes with the promise of the next piece
- Page total ~5,500-7,000px rendered (the longest article type)
